Back2Mine is the collaboration of D&G Dean Smahon & Graham Dixon who has
been djing since 1988 at local house parties and bars were he lived By 1989 he
was playing at clubs like the Warehouse Tradeshall, Twilightzone,Monroas the Pirate
radio stations and illegal raves after which he was offered his own night at Rickys
in Leeds taking over from Sasha every wednesday witch lead him to getting work
at the Gallery and alot of the clubs around the UK amongst many of his hidden
talents he is widely known and respected for his scratchablity which can only
be discribed as "amazing!" Recently he is getting into the production
side of things by doing remixes,mashups and putting out his own tracks with peaple
like Levi Lewis, Richard Gill Ian Bland. & One Foot In The Groove.. Dean has
played in and around the Leeds club scene since 1997 with residencies at Glasshouse,
Baby Cream, Habit & Off The Wall Events his never ending energy to "always
improve from the last one" and determination has given him the dividends
of being a well respected dj amongst his peers Over the years he has gained a
lot of experience having done two full seasons in Ibiza his knowledge of music
and the dance scene makes him a force to be reckoned with having played to crowds
of 5000+ in clubs such as Amnesia (Cream) El Divino, Eden residencies at Khania,
Plastic and a live weekly radio show Ibiza Fm has led him to play amongnst some
of the worlds celebrated dj's Shape Shifters,Seb Fontaine, Annie Mac, NYMC Project,
Jon Carter, Yousef, Tim Sherridan to name but a few and even recently Zurich Switzerland.
After getting together they came up with the idea of an all day event especially
for those clubbers who just do not know when to stop! Eventually, after testing
several venues (4 years of testing) Back2Mine has now found it's home at My House
formally know as Stinkys Peephouse. The loyal followers and new members have made
Back2Mine arguably the best all day event in Yorkshire It has no prejudice of
gender or creed and opens every Sunday from 11am till 11pm, thats 12 hours of
clubbing! With the latest Funky/Electro and Club Classics - Back2Mine is not to
be missed.
My House 1 Brick Road 76 York Street Leeds LS9 8AA (t) 0113 247 0606 THE CLUB: Stinky's Peephouse can be found in a quiet area only a few minutes from town, and was originally opened in 2002 as a very open-minded and predominately gay venue. New nights were introduced throughout 2003 with a strong deep house theme and the clientele is now distinctly more hetro, but (depending on the night) the easy-going and open minded vibe remains. Spread across three small floors, and with a garden for the summer, the venue successfully bridges the gap between bar and club.
